5th Sunday of Lent

“Lazarus, come out!”

Last Wednesday we celebrated the Solemnity of the Annunciation and I shared two images portraying that special moment.  This week I would again like to share images from the Annunciation.  Since this is one of the most important moments in the history of the world—when God became man—many artists throughout history have painted images to honor our Blessed Mother and her “Fiat”, her “Yes”, to the Angel’s announcement.

The first image is by the famous monk and artist Fra Angelico, and was painted about the year 1450.

The second image is by Sandro Botticelli, and was painted about the year 1490.

You are in my daily prayers.

God bless you,

Fr. VanDenBroeke
