Updates related to COVID-19

Last updated: July 25, 2020

We are open for Mass

We ask that everyone wear a mask when attending Mass.  Please see Fr. VanDenBroeke’s announcement here.

The requirement to attend Sunday Mass is still lifted, thus, no one is required to attend Mass in person if they are not yet comfortable.  In particular, anyone who is experiencing any flu like symptoms must remain home.  We also encourage everyone aged 65 and older, or those who have other underlying health concerns, to consider staying at home as well.

We will continue live-streaming the Mass on Facebook for those who are not able to attend.

In order to ensure the safety of our parishioners, rigorous cleaning and distancing requirements will be implemented.  Here is our plan.

We have organized a cleaning crew who will daily be sanitizing the church before and after every Mass.  Anything regularly touched is being sanitized, including: pews, door handles, railings, etc.

Seating will be limited to keep space between non-related people. Please follow the signs on the pews and the guidance of the ushers.

If all our seating fills up for a particular Mass, we will have to turn additional people away.  We apologize in advance if this happens.

Unfortunately we have decided to close the bathrooms for the time being.  It would be very challenging to sanitize these facilities between each use, therefore we made the decision to simply close them.  Please be sure to use the bathroom before coming to church.  You will need to return home if you need to use the bathroom during Mass.

We are also closing the children’s room and library during Mass, since these spaces would be very challenging to sanitize between every Mass.

Hand sanitizer will be available for use as you enter or exit the church by any door.  We encourage everyone to make use of this.

Singing will be limited during Mass.  We will have a cantor leading music and encourage everyone to sing/pray along in your hearts rather than out loud.

Watching Mass on TV or Online

Lonsdale Channel 1 – 8am Mass on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Online – Sunday 8am Mass will be livestreamed on our Facebook page

Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Prayer in Church

IC Church will be open for prayer from morning until sunset.
I encourage everyone to stop by during the day and spend some time in prayer with Jesus in the Eucharist.

Confessions will be available Saturday afternoon at the usual time (4:00-4:45pm),
however, they will be in the Civic Center rather than in the church.
This will allow us to keep the proper social distancing during confessions.

Parish Office

The IC Parish Office is now closed to visitors.
We ask that you please call or mail things in.
Thank you for understanding.
